Summer time and the reading is easy

I'm sitting here at the library on a very warm and beautiful Saturday and thinking of what I should be reading. I was wondering if people would be willing to share some of their favorite recent books they've read (or listened to). It will be a great way to discover books that you may not have heard about. I'll start of this week I just read the mystery book Mistress of the art of death by Ariana Franklin. Set in 12th century England the plot involves murder, the Crusades and anti-Semitism. A very engrossing story.
So please let me know if you've read anything good, I'm always looking for new authors to discover and I'm sure other people are to.
